Robin Gayle
Robin Gayle Wright was born in Dallas,
Texas, to Gayle (Gaston) and was the national director of Mary Kay, and Freddie
Wright an executive in the field of pharmaceuticals. Her home was San Diego,
California. Her professional journey began at the age of 14 as a model. She has
worked both in Paris, Japan and Paris. She chose to become an actor after
graduating from high school. She was part of the soap opera Santa Barbara
(1984), in which she was nominated 3 more times for Daytime Emmys. During the
first season of the show she was in love with fellow cast member Dane
Witherspoon, whom she got married in 1986. In addition, she appeared in The
Princess Bride (1987) in the title role. After she left Santa Barbara, she was
offered the lead role in Denial (1990), alongside Jason Patric. It was during
State of Grace (1990) at the time she met Sean Penn. They had daughters Dylan
Frances and a son Hopper Jack. After taking a few months off, Robin was back to
Hollywood and landed one of her most memorable parts of her career: She was
Tara in The Playboys (1992). She was an amazing actress and was a fantastic
performer. She appeared in Toys (1992) the film that was an comedy that starred
Robin Williams. It was an extremely funny performance. In 1994, Wright was in
the blockbuster success Forrest Gump (1994), along with Tom Hanks. In
recognition of her performance as Jenny, she got nominated for a Golden Globe
Award. She was given a small part in The Crossing Guard (1995), starring Jack
Nicholson. After being rejected for 14 roles, she finally got the main part in
MGM/UA's Moll Flanders (1996). Pen Densham directed her and Stockard Channing
starred. In the following film, she co-starred with William Hurt in Erin
Dignam’s Loved (1997).
