Sarah Hyland

 Sarah Hyland was born to actresses Melissa D. Canaday, and Edward James Hyland in New York City. At the age of four she entered the industry by doing voice overs and commercial work. Private Parts (1997) was her first film. The Object of My Affection was her second film. She appeared in Another World (1964), as Rain Wolfe, a child who was found in the park and fostered by Josie. Sarah worked with Amy Carlson ("Josie") several times more: Falcone (2000). Law & Order (1990). Law & Order: Trial by Jury (2005). Sarah was cast in Jennifer Love Hewitt's The Audrey Hepburn Story(2000) as one of the young Audrey Hepburns. The following year, she was a part on ABC's The Wonderful World of Disney: Annie (1999), which starred Audra McDonald, Victor Garber, Kristin Chernoweth, Joe Guld's Secret ((2000) as well as Falcone ((2000)). Sarah studied voice in jazz, tap and hip-hop, as well as film and TV work. Sarah, a New Yorker, also performed as an invited performer in her tap and theatre dance classes at "Reel to Real" Lincoln Center. When she was home-schooled by her mom, she went to public schools from second grade onwards. She was admitted in the 6th grade to PPAS (Professional Performing Arts School) in which she remained until her graduation in 2008. When Sarah reached the age of 18 and moved to Los Angeles, CA and, within two weeks, she had been able to land a plane named "My American Family". The name was changed to Modern Family (2009, after Sarah was selected). Sarah currently portrays Haley Dunphy, the oldest Dunphy child. Modern Family (2009) has won multiple awards most notably the Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.
