Rosamund Pike

In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike was the only child of a classically trained violinist mother, Caroline (Friend), and an opera father of a singer, Julian Pike. The couple worked hard and she traveled extensively throughout Europe in her early years. Pike attended Bristol's Badminton School and started acting at the National Youth Theatre. Pike was just 23 when she appeared in "Romeo and Juliet" at the National Youth Theatre. She was then recognized by an agent and signed. Although her first film was a large-budget action film, her film work was mainly in smaller independent movies like Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). She was awarded the Best Supporting Actress Award at The British Independent Film Awards for the film. Pride & Prejudice (2005) was her first feature film. Following the action movie, Doom (2006) and the suspense film Fracture (2007), Pike was briefly a part of Hollywood film. However, she returned to films of a smaller scale with remarkable performances in three movies: An Education (2008) Then, she starred in Dagenham (2010), and Dagenham (2010) and the lead role opposite Paul Giamatti in Barney's Version (2010). In 2012, Pike portrayed the role of Andromeda in the sci-fi epic Wrath of the Titans (2012). She returned to action films featuring a female lead with Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher (2012).
