Emily Swallow

Emily Swallow (born December 18 1979) is an American actress. Her roles in The Mentalist as Kim Fischer and Supernatural as Amara/The Darkness are her most well-known. She was also the Armorer in Star Wars' live-action series The Mandalorian. Emily played part in a minor role on The Last of Us Part II. Swallow was born in Washington, D.C. on December 18, 1979. She grew-up in Sterling, Virginia, and Jacksonville, Florida. While at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville and then at Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville, she began to act in a variety of college, amateur professional and amateur stage productions. She graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor's degree in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Virginia, and later pursued an MFA in Acting from the New York University's Tisch School for the Arts.Swallow started her career in Broadway theatre, where she performed in diverse productions, such as High Fidelity, King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof at the Guthrie Theater, Much Ado About Nothing for Shakespeare in the Park, and the world premiere of off Broadway productions Romantic Poetry and Measure for Pleasure.In 2008, Swallow made her film debut in the military drama The Lucky Ones. She appeared in two world premieres: Donald Margulies' play The Country House, Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse; and Mark Rylance's The play Nice Fish, at the Guthrie Theatre. In the year 2010, she won the Falstaff Award as best female actor for her performance in The Taming of the Shrew. She also starred alongside Jac Huberman in Jac N Swallow's musical romantic Poetry at the Manhattan Theatre Club. The show is about the hilarious mishaps and adventures of Jac Huberman and Swallow when they confront a variety of situations in their lives, with different degrees of difficulty.
