Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is an actor, model and director from England. Her most well-known character is that of Ginny Weasley as the Harry Potter film series's main character. Born in London, Wright portrayed the role for ten consecutive years until she was finally named in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part II (2011). Wright appeared in several independent films including Before I Sleep (2013) and The Sea (2013). The films were met with mixed reviews. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov's The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also completed a bachelor's in filmmaking from the University of the Arts London. The following year, she founded her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began to produce short films. Her first directed project was the coming-of-age drama Separate We Come. Separate We We Go (2012). This film was released at Cannes Film Festival to high critique. Wright also directed Know Thyself (2016), which featured Christian Coulson, as well as Sextant (2016). Both included emotional and landscape. Wright's three-part series Phone Calls, which was premiering at Tribeca Film Festival 2017, featured three episodes. Medusa's Ankles (2018) which starred Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs was released by Wright. It is based on A. S. Byatt’s The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has been recognized as an environmental activist; she is also an ambassador for charities Greenpeace as well as Lumos.
